The Chic-Adee Shop: A Valentines Treat!

In honor of Valentine's Day today I wanted show the Love and highlight one of my favorite shops! The Chic-ADee shop was founded by the uber talented Melissa Clark. This amazing artist, dancer, wife, and mother has focused her creative talents into making the most beautiful wreaths!
Here are some of my favorites.

Painting the Roses Red
Not only do I love the name with a throw back to Alice in Wonderland but the roses are to die for. I bought this wreath and love it. It is perfect for Valentine's Day or I am holding on to it for Spring.

Love Me Love Me Not
I bought this wreath as well because hello check out those roses! Also the paper wrapped around the wreath is love letters...be still my heart...I love details like that. I have this wreath on my door now and have had neighbors come to my house just to find out where I got it!

Luck of the Irish
I need this wreath. When my hubby and I first got married I told him I wanted to be festive for every holiday even if that meant just an awesome wreath on our door. I have never found a wreath for St. Patrick's Day until now! I love that this wreath brings in the festive without the cheese!
Touch of Zebra

This wreath is on the top of my want list. I would keep this wreath on my door on all the holiday down times during the year. I think it just reflects my personality so well! Melissa are you sure you did not make this specifically for me?

Southern Belle
Oh how I love this wreath. The lacy flowers are to die for. The look reminds me of one of my favorite dresses in the whole world. This just screams summer days and weddings to me! Oh please come live at my house!

I know Christmas is almost a year away but Melissa's Christmas wreaths are divine and it might take me that long to decide on one! Here is the front runner as of right now.

Old Fashion Christmas

This wreath just makes me smile! The pom poms are so beautiful. To me this just looks like the Christmases I remember growing up. I love the use of traditional colors but done in such a classy way!

To see more of Melissa's amazing designs and to purchase head over to her Etsy shop. Melissa also does custom designs so if there is an idea brewing in your head Melissa can make it a reality.

Coming in the Fall of 2010 Melissa will be opening a second shop featuring clothing, jewelry, artwork, home decor and much more! Be sure when it opens we will highlight it here!

If you plan to attend this show follow these directions.
I got lost last time with my GPS.
They have a wide variety of vendors coming to this show including one of my favorites
Just Be
They have the cutest skirts and purses around.
They will also have Ann Jones doing glitter nails and toes. I think I may have to run over just to get glitter toes for Valentine's Day!
Be prepared this boutique is in a home and is very cramped. Mommies do not even attempt to take in a stroller! If you have the option leave the children at home with dad.

Utah Art Market

This Friday head to the Sugarhouse Garden Center for the Utah Art Market. This show features great original local artists. This show focuses mainly on artistic items. They always have great original vendors.

Beehive Bazaar

All you artisans out there today applications open to be a vendor at the Spring 2010 Beehive Bazaar. I have to say that this was probably my favorite show of last year! So go and sign up because this show will get your products noticed!

Sunny and Chic Boutique

I am so excited to highlight our first crafter here at Boutique Critique.

Welcome Lara of

Lara is a stay at home mom of two young children. When she was awaiting the birth of her second child she attended the Women's Expo in Orem. As she looked through all the booths she was drawn to the hairpieces but was turned off by the high price tags. So she went home and decided to try her hand at making headbands. She is now selling her lovely creations so we can all have something unique and beautiful without burning a whole in our pocket.

Here are a few of my favorites...

Popsicle Run
I absolutely love the grays with a pop of blue!

Picnic behind the Waterfall
I just love the subtle pattern and the airy fabric. This just screams Anthropologie to me.

Milkshake, 2 straws

This is my absolute favorite. I am not sure if it is the beautiful yellow color (my favorite) or how intricate the flower is. Either way this will be mine!

I Feel Like Dancing - cufflet
Would this not be the perfect accessory to add beautiful, simple touch to an outfit.

Sugar and Spice
With summer coming wouldn't this little beauty look adorable in my little muffin's hair!

To check out more of Lara's amazing creations you can go to SunnyandChic.com or her etsy shop.

Oh Sweet Sadie Boutique Valentine's Show

Oh Sweet Sadie is giving us a Valentine's treat and holding a show on February 5th and 6th at SoDa Row in Daybreak. The Oh Sweet Sadie Boutique is one of my favorite shows. The owners, Dani and Heidi, do a wonderful job of finding the best vendors with the newest items. I have never gone to their boutiques and felt like I had seen it all before. I love their location in SoDa row. It is a huge space so they can put all the vendors in one spot. My other favorite thing is that is is stroller friendly!
The show is Friday February 5th and Saturday February 6th 9:30 AM to 8 PM. There will also be a pre show the evening of February 4th with music and refreshments.
This is a boutique not to miss! I will see you there!
While you are at the show make sure to go to some of the other great stores at SoDa Row. One of my favorites is Oopsie Daisy Baby for all your baby needs!

The Traveling Trunk Boutique Review

While I was out today I went to check out the Traveling Trunk Boutique.
This show was held at a home that was for sale in the Harvard/Yale area of Salt Lake. I got to the show about 2:30 on the first day of the show. When I was talking with the hostesses of the show they told me that they were already sold out of many of there items. They seem to have a very strong following and the veterans of their shows get there early and stock up on the items that they want. So get there early.
With the show being in an empty home they were able to spread items throughout the entire home. I am sure that the realtor is hoping all the foot traffic will also sell the house. They had items on three levels. With all the space it made it very easy to see everything that was available. Although the home had some interesting elements that made going through a little difficult. The stairs in the home were quite treacherous. I personally saw 2 people tumble. Luckily nothing serious. Also in the kitchen where they had checkout the back door was down a few stairs and the area was open. I was just waiting for someone to not see that it was there and fall in.
I was impressed with the vendors that they had at the show. One of my favorite parts of this show were all the books they had for sale. They had a wide variety of cookbooks and holiday books along with a huge selection of miscellaneous books. I have seen books at other shows but it is usually a selection of children's books but this was something completely different with books for all ages.
Overall the show had a great group vendors and minus the crazy elements of the house was a great space to showcase the vendors items. I would recommend getting to the show right when it starts so you don't miss out on any items.
The show continues through Saturday open from 9 am to 6 pm. Central checkout accepts cash, check, and credit card with the exception of american express.

Nalisa Dunford's Christmas Art & Gift Show Review

I attended the Nalisa Dunford's Christmas art and gift show today. The show was held in a private home in Holladay.
First I have to tell you to follow the driving instructions from the invite. I used my GPS and it got me totally lost!
Once I got to the show I was a little disappointed about the house it was held in. The home was really small and cramped. I felt like I could not look at everything they had on display because it was so cramped. I do have to mention that I had my diaper bag and one-year-old in tow. Even if I took those two factors away I felt like there was no good flow to the show. I walked out feeling like I could not see all the items they had there.
I have to say that they chose good vendors to cramp there space with. The show highlights Nettie who makes custom Gnomes and Witches. My thoughts on them is that you will either like them or you will not. They are an investment item that if you do not love you will not want to invest the cash in. If you do invest in the pieces it would be something you would attend the show each year to add to your collection.
If you are someone who collects Nettie's Gnomes and Witches this show is for you. You can pick up new pieces for your collection and see some other great vendors. For everyone else I would skip this show and head to one that offers more vendors and has better flow so you can fully appreciate the items for sale.

Nalisa Dunford's Christmas Art & Gift Show

I received an invite today for Nalisa Dunford's Christmas Art & Gift show. I am slightly intrigued by the list of vendors they have listed for their show. Check back next week for a review.
